What is Drama?

The official definition of Drama is the portrayal of fictional or non-fictional events in theatre, film, radio, and television.

Drama at MAPAS takes this generalised concept and makes it fun and child friendly. Drama is used to create a positive learning environment, where children are encouraged to be themselves. Through script work, improvisation and other key drama activities students develop a deeper understand of drama as an art form, whilst building on their confidence and learning fundamental speech and communication skills.

What is Musical Theatre?

Musical Theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines singing, dancing, and acting.

At MAPAS we offer an introduction to life on the stage! Both Musical Theatre groups delve into each art form and start to develop an understanding of how musicals are pieced together. We aim to create a learning space similar to that in the professional world to equip students with the skills and knowledge to be the best performers they can be.
